This guide will walk you through setting up and utilizing your CTS voicemail. If you have any questions that aren't addressed in this guide, please email sos@ctstelecom.com or call 269-746-4411.

Setting Up Your Voicemail

The CTS representative who builds your voicemail box will provide you with a temporary PIN for your voicemail box. Using the phone associated with your voicemail box, you can access your voicemail by dialing *98 or 438-9220.

The first time you access your voicemail, the prompts will walk you through setting a new PIN, recording your name, and creating a greeting that callers will hear when they leave you a message. Your PIN must be between 4 and 20 digits long and cannot match your temporary PIN.

When it comes to the point where you are creating a greeting that callers hear when they leave you a message, you have four options:

  • To record a personal greeting, press 1.
  • To select a system generated greeting that includes your name, press 2.
  • To select a system generated greeting that includes your telephone number, press 3.
  • To select a system generated greeting that does not include either your name or your telephone number, press 4.

After setting up your PIN, recording your name, and creating your greeting, the system will tell you that your account is ready to go.

Note: If you need to be able to set up your voicemail from a phone that is not the phone associated with this voicemail box, let your CTS representative know. In that case, the system will not walk you through the process, instead you will need to navigate the menus manually to record your name and your personal greeting and change your PIN. Dial 438-9220 to access your voicemail from any phone.

Key Menu Options

There are many options within the menu of your voicemail. Listed below are some of the most commonly-used options that you will want to reference often.

Main Menu

  • To get your messages, press 1.
    • To repeat, press 1.
    • To save, press 2.[1]
    • To delete your message, press 3.
    • To leave as new, press #.
  • To work with your greetings, press 3.
    • To set up a personal greeting, press 1.
    • To work with your extended absence greeting, press 2.[2]

[1]Note: You can save your messages, but remember: your voicemail box can only hold a total of 30 messages at one time before callers get a message that your mailbox is full and are unable to leave a new message.

[2]Note: The extended absence greeting can be used when you will be out of the office for an extended time period, but then when you return, you can turn off the extended absence greeting and your usual message will be used again.

Voicemail Upgrade

If you subscribe to our Premium Voicemail, you will have access to the internet-based CommPortal. Many of these functions can be accessed visually through the CommPortal on your computer. If you aren't a Premium Voicemail subscriber, contact us at 269-746-4411 to upgrade.
