Remote call forwarding is a feature allows you to turn their call forwarding on and off from outside of the office from any phone. If the steps below do not work for you or you are unsure of your PIN, contact CTS Telecom at 269-746-4411 to confirm that you have the feature and to get your Call Features PIN set. Note: This Call Features PIN is often the same as your Voicemail PIN if you have voicemail, but that's not always true. You can always call to be sure but feel free to try your voicemail PIN if applicable.

Utilizing the Feature

From any phone, call 269-438-9900.

Prompts

You will hear, "Please enter your own telephone number followed by the number sign key". You will then type your 10-digit phone number followed by #.

You will hear, "Please enter your current PIN followed by the number sign key". You will then type your 4-digit Call Features PIN followed by #.

You will hear, "Please enter the access code for the call forwarding service you wish to configure".

  • If you want to turn on your call forwarding, you will type access code *72.
    • After typing the access code, you will hear dialtone. The system is waiting for you to type in the number you'd like your calls to be forwarded to.
      • PLEASE NOTE: If you have a code in your office that you use to dial outside lines (e.g. dial 9), you will need to precede your destination number with that access code. For example, if I wanted to forward my calls to my local cell phone number, 123-4567, I would enter 91234567. No need for area code for local numbers (Kalamazoo, Portage, Battle Creek areas). If you do not have to dial a code for an outside line in your office, just enter the number, e.g. 1234567.
      • If you are forwarding to a number that is not local, you would need to type 1 and the area code, e.g. 16161234567.
    • After typing the destination number, there will be a pause, there is a confirmation beep, and the call will disconnect.
  • If you want to turn off your call forwarding, you will type access code *73.
    • After typing the access code, you will hear a confirmation beep and the call will disconnect.

Testing the Feature

You can test the call forwarding, but be sure to not test from the number you've just forwarded your calls to! Find a different line to test from so you can be sure the call goes through to your intended destination.
